Some famous Hispani and Hispaniensis were the emperors Trajan, Marcus Aurelius, Hadrian, Theodosius I and Magnus Maximus, the poets Marcus Annaeus Lucanus, Martial and Prudentius, the philosophers Seneca the Elder and Seneca the Younger, and the usurper Maximus of Hispania. A number of these men, such as Trajan, Hadrian and others, were in fact descended from Roman colonial families. The term Hispanic derives from Latin Hispanicus, the adjectival derivation of Latin Hispania , ultimately probably of Celtiberian origin. Yet, personal income was not directly linked to attributions about addiction in the current study. The relatively low personal income levels among participants may not have provided enough variability to detect direct effects on attributions. Educational level was inversely related to extent of agreement with the moral/character models of addiction. In addition, marijuana using women disagreed with spiritual attributions when they were more educated in comparison to marijuana using women who reported lower levels of education. Thus, it may be important for social workers to consider the wide range of educational levels among Latinas, and how varying levels of education and drug use may influence beliefs about drug use.
Although a minimum wage hike wouldn’t fully solve the problem, it is a step in the right direction. NWLC reports that Latinas who work full-time, year-round jobs and also have a bachelor’s degree generally only earn about $52,037 per year. A White, non-Hispanic man with only an associate’s degree, on the other hand, generally makes $54,620. This comparison offers a bleak perspective of the position that Latina women are in – that despite having more education, some Latina women still earn lower wages and must work longer to make the same amount of money. This has disastrous consequences for the Latino community by denying them monetary resources that would ultimately benefit them.
There was some doubt surrounding the numbers, President George Washington and Thomas Jefferson maintained the population was undercounted.
